THE ROAD NOT TAKEN

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,

And sorry I could not travel both

And be one traveler, long I stood

And looked down one as far as I could

To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,

And having perhaps the better claim

Because it was grassy and wanted wear,

Though as for that the passing there

Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay

In leaves no step had trodden black.

Oh, I marked the first for another day!

Yet knowing how way leads on to way

I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh

Somewhere ages and ages hence:

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I,

I took the one less traveled by,

And that has made all the difference.

很喜歡的一首英文詩,大意是說面臨抉擇時,該選的是平坦道路,或者崎嶇小徑,但文末的that has made all the difference 正道出了選擇後所產生的變化,你呢?會怎麼選?

「該不該把疑問說出來呢?」

『說出來,你會得到答案嗎?』

「嗯!我想應該是不會吧!」

『那你為什麼還想問?』

「悶在心裡,無人可說,唯一的窗口,就是她啊!」

『若你真的提出來,會怎樣呢?』

「我想,跟以前一樣吧!她不回應,不理我,我的疑問還是一堆。」

『既然你都知道了結果,何苦仍執著於這段感情,又讓自己胡思亂想呢?』

「看不開吧!總是告訴人家該怎麼做較好,自己卻也陷入泥沼囉!」

『很難過嗎?』

「嗯!非常難過。」

『唉唉!你這又是何苦呢!她不是跟你說過,她心中有個一直放不下的人嗎?』

「是吧!可是她也說,因為他犯的錯,那個人不會再給她機會啦!」

『所以,你還是抱持著希望?』

「是啊?不行嗎?」

『………』

「怎麼了?」

『嗯!祝你好運吧!』

「謝謝!」
